Startpup

The On-Chain Startup Accelerator

Startpup is a community-funded accelerator built on Solana. Instead of venture capitalists deciding which projects get backed, the community does. $STARTPUP holders vote on early-stage projects, fund the best ones from a shared treasury, and earn returns when those projects succeed.

Think of it as Y Combinator, but the partners are the community.

How It Works

Startpup operates in cycles called Litters. Each Litter is a cohort of early-stage Solana projects that go through a structured process from application to graduation.

Step 1: Application

Projects apply to join a Litter by submitting:

Every applicant must publicly link their Twitter. Anonymous applications are not accepted. If you're not willing to put your name behind your project, Startpup is not the place for you.

Step 2: Community Voting

Once applications close, $STARTPUP holders vote on which projects make it into the Litter. Voting uses a quadratic model so that smaller holders still have meaningful influence. One large wallet cannot dominate the outcome.

The voting period lasts 7 days. Projects with the most support are selected for funding.

Step 3: Funding

Selected projects receive funding from the Startpup treasury. In exchange, Startpup receives either a revenue share agreement or a token allocation from the funded project. The exact terms are set before funding is distributed and are publicly visible to all holders.

This is the core of the flywheel. When funded projects succeed, value flows back into the treasury, making each future Litter stronger.

Step 4: Incubation

Funded projects enter a structured incubation period. During this phase, teams are expected to:

Projects that fail to meet milestones or go silent may have their remaining funding paused by community vote.

Step 5: Graduation

Projects that complete their incubation milestones graduate from the Litter. Graduated projects receive:

Graduation is a signal to the broader market that this project was vetted, funded, and delivered.

The $STARTPUP Token

$STARTPUP is the governance and utility token of the Startpup accelerator.

What holding $STARTPUP gives you:

Governance. Vote on which projects receive funding from the treasury. Every Litter, you decide what gets built.

Early Access. Get priority access or allocation in every project Startpup backs, before it reaches the public market.

Revenue Share. A portion of returns from funded projects flows back into the treasury. As the treasury grows, so does the value backing the ecosystem.

Scout Reputation. Your voting history is tracked. If you consistently vote for projects that go on to succeed, your reputation score increases. Top scouts earn boosted voting power, early access to deals, and leaderboard recognition.

Token Mechanics

Why Startpup Exists

The Problem

Every day, thousands of tokens launch on Solana. The vast majority follow the same pattern: an anonymous developer creates a token, bundles the supply, lets people buy in, dumps at migration, deletes their socials, and moves on. Buyers lose money. Builders with real ideas get buried under noise.

Meanwhile, the projects that do get funded are typically picked by VCs behind closed doors. Retail only gets access after insiders are already positioned.

The Solution

Startpup removes both of these problems.

For buyers, every project on Startpup comes with a doxxed developer, vested team tokens, and community oversight. The rug playbook doesn't work here.

For builders, Startpup offers real funding, community support, and a structured path to growth without needing VC connections.

For holders, Startpup turns passive token ownership into active participation in a venture fund. You're not just holding a token. You're deciding the future of the Solana ecosystem.

Litters

Each cohort of funded projects is called a Litter. Litters run on a regular cycle:

Litter 01 is coming soon. Follow @startpup on Twitter for announcements.

Scout System

Startpup tracks every holder's voting history. Over time, this builds a reputation score.

How it works:

What top scouts earn:

The scout system turns Startpup into a meritocracy. People who are good at identifying talent get rewarded for it.

Treasury

The Startpup treasury is the shared fund that backs all projects. It grows through:

The treasury is managed transparently on-chain. All inflows and outflows are visible to holders. Major treasury decisions (such as the size of funding per Litter) are subject to governance votes.

Key Principles

Transparency. Everything is public. Dev identities, voting results, treasury balances, project milestones. Nothing happens behind closed doors.

Accountability.Doxxed developers. Vested tokens. Milestone tracking. If you launch through Startpup, you're held to a standard.

Alignment. The team's incentives are aligned with holders. Team tokens vest over months. The treasury only grows when funded projects succeed. Everyone wins together or not at all.

Access. No VC gatekeeping. No insider rounds. Every $STARTPUP holder has equal access to vote, fund, and benefit from the accelerator.

FAQ

What blockchain is Startpup built on?

Solana.

How do I participate in voting?

Hold $STARTPUP tokens. When a Litter voting period opens, connect your wallet on the Startpup platform and cast your votes.

Can anyone apply to launch through Startpup?

Yes, but you must doxx your Twitter and meet the application requirements. Anonymous teams will not be considered.

How is team supply handled?

All team and developer token allocations are vested over multiple months. Tokens unlock gradually, not at launch.

What happens if a funded project fails?

If a project misses milestones or goes inactive, the community can vote to pause remaining funding. The doxxed dev requirement creates social accountability.

How does the revenue share work?

Each funded project agrees to return a percentage of revenue or token allocation to the Startpup treasury. Exact terms vary by project and are disclosed before community voting.

Is this a hackathon project?

Startpup is being built for Solana's Frontier Hackathon hosted by Colosseum. But the goal is to operate as a real, ongoing accelerator beyond the hackathon.
